Show DsscHt Industries: Dii3 Cay To Assist Most people think of the Deseret Industries as a worthy recipient of their donations of goods, but how many of us are aware of the variety of merchandise available to buy there? OFFERED FOR sale at the Salt Lake Store, 300 West 100 South and the Sugarhouse store, 4500 South and State, are some brand new items donated from local merchants and manufacturers or made right at the Deseret Industries' Indus-tries' plant. The majority of merchandise, merchan-dise, however, is donated but has been thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, mended, repaired, refinished and made like new at the plant. BECAUSE OF the processing process-ing facilities and the volume of donations, the Deseret Industries In-dustries offers a wide variety of quality merchandise at a fraction of the cost of those same items at retail. It is important to continue receiving donated items. Unfortunately Un-fortunately because of public abuse in ignoring instructions, instruc-tions, the pickup boxes have been removed from shopping centers, etc. DESPITE SIGNS instructing instruct-ing that all donations be put in the box, and to call for pickup of furniture, larger items or if there isn't room in the box for your donations, there still was considerable pileup around the outside of the pickup boxes. This shortly became unsightly un-sightly and a nuisance to the shopping center merchants, especially if there was a snow, rain or wind. However, donations are still gratefully received at the Salt Lake City and Sugarhouse locations. THERE IS even a new antique an-tique department at the Sugarhouse store. Offered for sale are antique beds, chairs, chests, sewing machines, plow and other items of interest to antique fans, ml |
