Show I STATE LIBRARY GYMNASIUM CONVENTION 1 HOLDS SESSION AT STATE UNIVERSITY J The Slate Libra rj Gymnasium convention con-vention met at the Assembly room pf the university Thursday afternoon at 2 p. m., for the purpose of discussing plans for organizing a state league to promote tho library and j'mnasium movement. The convention, which was culled by the Library Gymnasium commission com-mission created by the state legislature at. its last session, was called to order by the president of rhe commission, Prof. William Stewart, A call for representatives rep-resentatives showed that nearly every i.own in the state was represented, from Logan on Hie north lo Cedar Oit.v on the south, and in most cases several representatives wore present, among them many of the city mayors and the county superintendents of schools. The first number on the programme was an address by Governor Spr3 The governor, being unable ro be present, showed his interest in the convention by writing out an address and having it read by Mr. A. (.'. Nelson, state superintendent super-intendent of schools. "Our nation,'' stated the irovornor, "is spending great sums of money in the conservation of the natural commevcinl resources of our country, but the conservation of the boys of our country is the greatest nrbblem wo have before us today.
