Show GREELEY'S NOMINATION. It is somewhat amusing to read the' opinions of the press on Greeley's uom-1 ina'.ioa by the Cincinnati convention, which will be found in the Herald this morning. Generally the aJminis-' iratiorj papers intimate that the Dem ocracy cannot endorse the nomination. while the Democratic papers are not so sure about the matter, but in a noncommittal non-committal imnncr express their intention inten-tion of wailing until tho national convention con-vention decides for the party. The libera! lib-era! Kepubhcm papers endorse the nomination and the platform, yet some cl' ihciu hold themselves independent to act as they please incise the Pern ociaey nominate a ticker. That such an dot on the part of the Democrat would go tar to heal up the breach in liie il-publican party is beyond doubt. We n'je.-tion if even Horace Greeley, him;cif, would not in that event take grounds against his own election. Should the report prove correct, which comes through the Cincinnati Cimmcr V, that Penile tun and Hendricks en-dorso en-dorso the nomination of Greeley and Brown, there is little doubt that the great mass of the Democracy will follow fol-low their lead; in which event two ' -t newspaper editors aro likely to fill the first places in the gift of the people. |
