Show THE TOOELE CHOIR PROTESTS THINKS I OUGHT T H THE PIIZE Which It I Claimed Was Gven to Another On a Technicaity 1 Lit of the Award BeloW will be found a complete list of winners nrizes at the Eisteddfod lat week The Tooele count Chorus makes the following protest in regard to the award in their class The Cambrians have decided to with hodr rather award thq prIze won by the Tooele count Ghoir to another Of the technical grounds that a rule was broken ly Professor Stdphens stepping in and helping to make the required number of 40 voices The justice of this is questioned on the grounds that Mr Stephens pres micp could not possibly have affected nay of the points from which Dr Par Iarded them the prize according to huis statement read at the ElsteddfOl and here reproduced from his book t djudlcatonNote the points first the tempo or speed second blending of voices third em < tonal feeling fourth pianissImo or soft sWing effects fifth c rcmatc difficult harmonies sixth last movement flow and without exaggeration exag-geration seventh free af fauns the whole being a picture of variety and free from all straining for effects We contend that these were points gained by the work of the choir as a whole that would lave been apparent had it not been forced by th lack of numbers t ask for jid and Jhat they are each and ali points which the aid could not have in the least enhanced Fjepce the injustice of awarding the prize to other choir who were pot qual to them in these esseptaJ points EVAN ARTHUR THE AWARDS AS lAD Military l3apd COltesta Lerley Paraphras Nesvndbf b belong for the training of Miss RamSYs yoke for the Eist dfod contest con-test b Herald ha received commu nicatons both from Miss Ramsey and Mrs De Leery From these i seems that Mrs De Loer and Efe Dean Knappen each gave good instruction but Miss Ramsey chooses to give most creIit to Mrs Knapfen From a digest di-gest of the whole matter The Herald thinks the honor are about equal and chooses to let the ipatter drop To whomsoever belongs time credit Miss Ramsey certainly has a very beautiful voice G Mrs Bessie Dean Allison one Of our foremost contralto singers formerly of tiis city but now of
