According to insiders, Fonda has backed out of the Freddie Kruger is back m time to haunt your dreams in New Line project without giving any reason. If youve been wondering what Mel Brooks has been up to, try of Spaceballs, which is his send-usci-f- i films. We particularly like the slogan we saw which said May the Schwartz be with you. Cinema's latest release .4 Nightmare On Elm Street Part 3 Dream Warriors and for those of you who enjoyed the original, but found part two lacking, the fun and terror are back Along with the return of Robert England as Freddie Kruger, Heather Langencamp reprises her role as Nancy, Freddie's main target in the first film This time out shes grown up, become a psychologist and is the new resident at a hospital where they treat teenagers with sleep disorders such as nightmares (of course these nightmares all involve Freddie) Since she's the newcomer, the geiural statf tends to ignore her ideas and continue to treat the patients in the usually prescribed way, which includes gioup therapy, until seveial patients manage to get croaked The script is intelligent, the feeling of terror, the actual terror and the special effects, along with a solid cast, forms a cohesive package which we still maintain puts the Friday the 14th series to shame. 4 Nightmare On Elm Street Part 3 Dream Warriors is something for horror fans to celebrate Its a winner p BE KIDDING DEPT.: As We See It has never been in favor of censorship, nor are we in favor of seeing the needs of the comVOL' GOTTA munity shoved aside in the interests of a large company that seems to feel it can run roughshod over the needs of the community. We refer to WTCI, the cable operation which has redistributed two of the television stations that serve Utahs needs to a higher cable band when surveys have proven that viewers tend to tune in stations located on the lower end of the band. According to Vickie Street, president and general manager of KSTU-TV- , WTCI advised her that it was their intention to group similar stations on the cable band together (movie stations together, religious Nations together, independent statins together, etc.). However, WTCI has not kept its word. Inand dependent station KSTU-Talso PBS station KBYU have been moved to higher channels on the cable band. Those who have cable-readtelevisions can receive both of the stations, but viewers who have cable sets but dont have cable-readeither have to obtain a special converter, at additional cost, or they y KD ON THE STREET DEPT.: The proposed sequel to the hit film 9 to 5 which was written and approved by everyone, including Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Dolly Par- HE y not be able to receive the programs that KSTU and KBYU transmit. In a letter to Dan McCarthy, state manager of Community Television of Utah (those folks who leave you on hold for long periods of time) L. Brent Miner, president of the Utah Broadcasters Assn, states that the national program services cannot serve the unique needs of Utah viewers, that the cable subscribers without cable-read- y sets cannot receive the stations which in some cases affects the academic interests of BY'U curricula. Also, the fact that KBYU would suffer from the pledges it depends on and KSTU would lose advertising revenue. Both KSTU and KBYU have served the community well and should not have to suffer at the hands of the cable company and should be returned to their original places on the cable band. If you agree that community needs come first, please address your comments to KSTU-TV- , 5020 W.
