Freeda Wilson Elected Woman Of Year The Sego Lily Chapter of the American Business Womens Association in their March Meeting selected Freeda Wilson of West Valley as Woman of the Year. their 1981-8The election was conducted by Louise Green, who is also chairman of the committee. Freeda is the mother of four and grandmother to six. She has been an active member of ABWA since 1970 and is currently serving as treasurer on this years board. Freeda has been employed for the past eight years at Wells Distributing, where she has held various positions. She has been a member of the 67 Fraternal Order of Eagles holding various offices. 2 Jean Johnson - Caring" Helps Attain Primary Goals by Margaret Slack Dr. Mary Jean Johnson holds a unique position among the entire female population of Utah. Not only is she the first female principal at Granger high, but the first such in Granite Dist. In fact, according to the State Office of Education, Dr. Johnson holds the distinction of being the first and only female high school principal in the entire state. And, how many other women principals can say they are married to a principal? She is the wife of Dr. Maurice Johnson, principal at Olympus junior high. Reviewing the goals Mary Jean set as she took over her new post last summer, she feels that a number have already been reached, or are in full gear. Listed first on her goals was better communication with the community. I feel like this has been accomplished with the initiation of a news letter to the homes of the students sent out four times a year, she says. She is pleased with response from the community, mentioning a scholarship fund drive, an upcoming spring fair and a curriculum fair set for Apr. 30. Because of the demands of her job, though, she admits she does not spend any more hours as Granger high principal than she did as an assistant last year.
