The Legion uses the funds for supporting their various Legion activities and projects during the year. Mr. Allen was born Dec. 25, 1894 in Layton, the son of Joseph and Sarah Weaver Allen, early Layton settlers. He has engaged in farming and gardening and spent ail of his life in Layton. MRS. ALLEN, the former Leona Love of Kaysville, was born Jan. 11, 1898, in Kaysville, the daughter of Robert and Mary Simpson Love. Mr. and Mrs. Allen were married Jan. 26, 1924 in Salt Lake City. For the past 54 years they have resided very close to their present home in Tom and Nancy Adams received a plaque and certificate in the annual beau- tification of their home and surroundings. MRS. ALLEN enjoys working along with her husband. She enjoys quilting and embroidery. For Christmas she gave quilts and han- diwork to friends and family members. Mrs. Allen also shares her talents and teaches anyone who is interested in her techniques. They are parents of a daughter, and one son, Joe Allen, who was killed in action in June of 1945 during world war II Salt Lake City. They will name her Kelly Hayes. ALBANO retired January 1, 1950 in Preston, Idaho and they spent two years in California and a trip to Arkansas and Michigan, coming back to Utah the fall of 1952 to reside in Kaysville. He has served in many organizations of the LDS Church and also as a LDS Temple worker. He was always ambitious and spent much time gardening and other jobs about his home and yard while his health would permit. J.J. ALBANO John J. (Jack) Albano of East, Kaysville, observed his 91st birthday anniversary on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at his home. 469 North 150 MR. ALBANO was born in 1886, in Bloomfield, Neb. He was the son of John and Hannah Albano. He later moved to Colorado December and then to St. Anthony, Idaho, where he worked for the Forest Service prior to serving in World War I in France from 1917 to 1919. After returning from the war, he again was employed with the Forest Service in Colorado and then in Afton, Wyoming. SPENDING 33 years in the Forest Service in addition to the cities mentioned above, he served in Kemmerer, Wyoming; Kamas, Utah; Mountain Home, Idaho; and Preston, Idaho. He enjoyed his job and and was an the energetic and dependable worker. It was while in Afton, Wyoming he met his wife, the former Gladys Dyer and they were married on June 15, 1925. After their marriage HE AND his wife are the parents of one son and one daughter, Robert D.
