I compliment you on your self-satisfied murmur of contentment. Yesterday you were suckled by television, today by churches and professors, tomorrow you can sit contentedly in the lap of the silent majority. America has fulfilled the dream circle of sex, mother-love, food-love, and group-love for a great many. These are the 'haves' that clutch their baubles and bread to their hummingbird hearts and attain a self-negating state of nothingness. Money becomes God and what it buys their religion. The 'haves' become protoplasm reaching out to engulf whatever they see. You are their children. The progeny of birth by fission, reproducing an idenitcal, immortal counterpart. A calcified amoeba mentality that catagor-izes and classifies the world into its own image. A white aristocracy of money, technology, and a super-economy. The 'have-nofs' compose the 'third world.' The Asian masses to the east; the emerging Blacks of Africa; the turbulent Latins of Mexico and South America. All desire the American dream of phallic ecstacy and material absorbtion. Many have migrated to America to clasp that dream. Some were here; others dragged here; some bribed. But they came empty handed; the black, the yellow, and the brown, and were delegated -- as all emigrants -- to second class citizenship. Skin color became a great r u 1 e-of-thumb measurement for social worth or social disgrace. "Niggers ride at the back of the bus!" "Spies and dogs keep off the grass!" "Chinks need not apply!""Indians keep out!" Do not order the universe into your image --let it flow! Truth exists outside the chosen group-circle of fulfillment. Personalities and nationalities are not jello to be put in molds. Black and White only occupy different positions on a color spectrum. Where can one meet under the common umbrella of humanity: black, yellow, white, red and brown. What a weariness that the amoeba mentality exists; that shade-amoebas rail at sun-amoebas. What a weariness to see the "WASP" buzzing round in its own contented sense of superiority: "Why of course I like them. Some of my best friends. . . " "Your different from the others I've met. . ." "I'm not prejudiced but. The proud, blunt accusing finger of superior racism has disappeared. The bigot can no longer point with pride at those: "Damn Nigras" or the "Thieven Redskins." The applause is gone, but the strutting bigot has been replaced by the amoeba bigot -- one that hides behind a mask and uses the ultimatecop-out: iTiMtil "Well, they're alright, but I wouldn't like my sondaughter to marry one. . ." Their justification is, of course, the social problems arising from an inter-racial marriage. The sanctity of laws supporting miscegenation and racism has faded -- Martin Luther King and Malcolm X helped towards that end -- but there are still myriad amoebas begging the blessing while mouthing their bigotry. It is absurd! It is inhuman. It is amoebaism! I hope it is not you. Here's Nader Report On McKay "Wi is? REP. K. GUNN McKAY Democrat The Nader report says First District Congressman K. Gunn McKay is, as a person, very representative of his district. "The majority of Utahns are Mormon," the report notes. "McKay is an active churchgoer and was until recently a church official in Ogden. "The average Utahn's income is less than the national average ; McKay is one of the nation's least wealthy congressmen." The report, written by Nader staffer JamesB. Witkin, observed that the congressman from Huntsville is trying hard to stay out of the Washington, D. C. social whirl. "He still adheres to the Mormon doctrine, abstaining from tobacco and alcohol, and refuses to be drawn into the Washington cocktail party circuit." The report also says McKay has a country appearance and seems "out of his natural habitat behind a large congressional desk." "His strong, blunt fingers would appear more natural gripping a horse's reins rather than pressing the hold button on his telephone." According to the report, McKay received a rare prize when he was appointed to the Appropriations Committee as a freshman congressman. The report said the appointment has been beneficial to Utah. "Utahns did not have to wait long to feel the benefits of having their own congressman on the Appropriations Committee," the report said. "On April 12, 1971, the Salt Lake Tribune announced the formation of a new helicopter training unit at Hill Air Force Base, adding 1,400 military and 100 civilian personnel to the base." The report also says that McKay's legislative future could be quite secure. "The factory that make McKay popular to Utahns are not likely to change in the years to come," it says. "If the Republicans fail to unseat McKay in November, it will be progressively more difficult to do so in future years as he gains seniority on appropriations." Provo Daily Herald CONGRESSMAN McKAY SAYS: "I favor a strong defense posture and I think my record demonstrates that. I voted for the strongest defense budget since World War II. Appropriations for Hill Field have increased eight times over that they were before I took office." "My opponent complains because I cannot change my schedule to meet him in debate. I have met him at every reasonable time and place possible. He must remember that he has campaigned for 6 months ... I have had just the two weeks since Congress adjourned and have commitments that I must meet." "My opponent has, at this late date, chosen to make an issue out of the prayer amendment which I voted against. If he chooses to have his children subjected to prayer by "rote" instead of by faith, the same constitution that guarantees our religious freedom will give him that right. Personally, I do not choose to support non-denominational prayer." "I am opposed to considering amnesty at this time. I defend the right of an individual to choose to leave America, but I refuse to consider repatriation of those who leff America at a time when American lives were jeopardized in conflict." "I have sponsored and supported mea sures protecting the integrity of family." the McKay has the momentum S&lMIgu (9UPJE) QfeCfiBfi CONGRESS,1st DISTRICT... DEMOCRAT Pd. Pol.
