Show 1IKKRON. Arthur Huntsman and Joseph Terry report cattle dying near Terry's ranch. The cattle are in good condition, even fat, but fat wont save them. Tin? school trustees did not like the little piece that they saw in the Washington Wash-ington County News about a school teacher, for they sent right oft' to Par-owan Par-owan and got the longest girl in the state to teach our school, and then flattered themselves in a public meeting meet-ing that they had secured the best teacher in the state, even before they knew- whether she was capable of teaching, as the lady has no teacher's certificate. School commenced last Monday, the 28th ult. The men here are now commencing to work for themselves, preparing for winter by hauling wood, taking grists to mill, etc. : they have been working Cor the Enterprise company for about six weeks, and intend working on the Enterprise canal soon. As the men will be more at home now it will give us girls a chance to report more news for the home paper. The News is ol great interest to many of our citizens, but they are at a loss to know which of us girls does the writing. We had the first snow of the season last Thursday. Men who were working on the Enterprise dam quit working while the storm lasted, except a few from St. George. All hands returned to work on Sunday evening, and finished finish-ed the work for the season on December 1st that is the dam work. The dam is now about 40 feet high. A few hands will remain with two masons to do a little work on the gate; when that is finished, we will be ready for the rain snow so that sve may have plenty of water next season.
