Show 11 OR S RINT SHE regular quarterly conference of the st george stake was held here last saturday and sunday present of the general authorities being apostle anthony W ivins milton bennion and wife oscar luckham sisters af ton young and ann M cannon at the saturday forenoon session pres ed H snow welcomed the saints saying he was delighted to see so many present he made mention of the good conditions of the people in this stake saying we should all be grateful tor for the peace we enjoy and for our auxiliary organizations was touch pleased to have president iv ins and so many other visitors with us pres ivins spoke of the response res b lity of parents in making latter day saints of their children the home should be made an education al institution good books should be furnished the children our church organization was given to joseph sm th by the lord the priesthood having its special fields of action then came the auxiliary tons t ons the relief society being the first for women the sunday school 41 woric is fundamentally for the devel of faith the M I 1 assoria eions have the same mission and so cial and literary development of the young the primary department takes the little children and teaches them the fundamentals of religion and faith the whole purpose is to make latter day saints parents should see to it that these subjects are taught by example as well as ann M cannon delivered the Y L 11 I 1 A message we aim to make latter day saints of the young women the girl leaders should be full of helpfulness at all times all should be encouraged to attend mutual meetings and be bunc and regular in attendance we aim to equip the young woman tor for life all should keep the word of wisdom we should truly be the light of the world sund sundi i forenoon elder milton bennion spoke of the sunday school message parents are under a very serious obligation to teach their children the principles of the gospel parents and teachers must set good examples at all times we should teach of the lives ot of the great biblical characters as these will exert a great influence on the lives of the children also teach the person allty of 0 god god should become our ideal of all that is good and true we should cultivate love of him the sunday school should develop these things sister hilda hall of hurricane a r returned missionary from the states gave a report ot of her mission saying she had enjoyed it exceeding ly she bore a strong testimony the truth ot 0 the gospel and said should all be willing to serve pres inns ivins stated that in these proceedings he saw the fulfillment of the predictions ot of the prophets go where you will yon you will see nothing like this these teachers are blessed of the lord in this great work all children have some laith made by the people of southern utah to build schools the st george school is very favorably reported by those who have officially visited it we should all labor to gain an education the church has done much for education elder oscar I afkham made men tion ot of the zeal shown by the people of southern utah in coming to the dixie college pell felt thankful that we wf must be mindful ot of god we
