Show KAN'AH. Mrs Macfarlane of St. George left here on the 3rd inst for home. Cattlemen are busy rounding-up and will deliver at Upper Kanab on the 20th inst. A number of men have gone up the river to get their winter grain and flour. W. S. Lewis is gathering the poll tax and repairing roads. He says there are many shirkers. William Bunting, William Swapp and Charley Pugh are threshing their way home with a new machine and will be here in a few days. W. S. Lewis started for Elsinore on the 8th inst for freight for Kanab Exchange. Ex-change. Z. K. Judd went at the same time for Bowman & Co. Sam Brinkerhoff while driving a horse attached to a hay rake whipped the animal, and it responded only too well by bolting. The boy jumped from his seat and was unhurt; the horse was badly skinned and the rake damaged; Banak, Kanab, Utah, October 11, 1898. |
