Show Miss Virgie Goates and Walter Snow Marry In L.D.S. Temple Friday Married in the St. George Temple Friday, Sept 29, were Miss Virgie Goates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Goates, and Walter Snow, son of Pres. and Mrs. Harold S. Snow of St. George. The groom's father officiated at the ceremony, many relatives and friends attending. attend-ing. On Friday evening the bride's parents entertained more than 400 guests at a wedding reception and dance in the south ward chapel. Guests were welcomed at the door by Eric Snow, cousin of the groom. In the receiving line were the parents of both bride and groom, the two women wearing evening dresses of pale blue with corsages of pink rosebuds. The bride's wedding dress was of brocaded white satin with circular train and finger-tip veil. She carried an old fashioned nosegay nose-gay of mixed garden flowers. Attending At-tending her as matron of honor was the groom's sister, Mrs. Schuyler Everett, with the bride's two sisters, the Misses Rhoda May and Jeannie Goates, and Miss Betty Lou Gardner as bridesmaids and Miss Annette Snow as flower girl. All wore identical dresses of net in pastel shades over satin and carried nosegays. E 1 w y n Cameron of St. George was best man. Harold Hafen, Greg Snow and Clair Snow were ushers and Mr. Hafen directed the short program pro-gram which included a violin duet, "Because" by Miss Dawn Andrus and Miss Josephine Jones accompaniment ac-companiment by the Misses June and Marion Decker of Parowan, cousins of the groom. Dancing followed the program with music by Rulon Foster and his orchestra opening with the couples favorite number "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes." Gifts were displayed in the two relief society rooms on the lower floor of the chapel, the guests filing from there into the lower hall whore refreshments were served. Mrs. Eric Snow was in charge of the serving. The couple will mnke their home in St. George where both are enrolled in the Dixie junior college. |
