Show Miss Mona Cox to Marry Pfc. Robert C. Smith In Spokane, Wash. Miss Mona Cox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Cox of St. George, took the bus Monday for Spokane! Wash., where she will be married this week end to Pfc. Robert C. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith, also of St. George. Prior to her departure, Miss Cox entertained her many friends and relatives at a trousseau tea at her home Sunday, May 21. Assisting her with the displays and with serving were five school friends, Miss Annette Pendleton, Miss Catherine Carter, Miss Thelma Cox, Miss Thelma Lang and Miss Lou Jean Atkin. Two miscellaneous showers honored hon-ored the bride-elect during last week. On Wednesday evening a group of intimate friends held a shower party for her at the home qf Miss Thelma Lang. On Thursday Thurs-day evening relatives joined in entertaining for her at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Rudgar Atkin. Assisting as hostesses at this event were two other aunties, Mrs. Loraine Cox and Mrs. Kenneth Cox, and a cousin, Mrs. Howard Beck. Miss Cox graduated Friday from the lower division of Dixie junior college, Pfc. Smith has been in military training for several months. Plans for the marriage were made in early April when Miss Cox and her mother visited Pfc. Smith in Spokane. |
