Show Approaching Marriage of Miss Mary Jarvis Announced By Her Parents Mr. and Mrs. B. Jarvis, Jr., are this week announcing the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Mary, to Lieut. J. Mark Holmes of Logan. The marriage date is set for Saturday, Sat-urday, Sept.' 12th, in the St. George Temple. The bride-elect is a graduate of the Dixie junior college and has since completed courses in the L. D. S. Business college, at Salt Lake City, a year's clerical work at . the Dixie junior college, has filled a two-year mission for the L. D. S. church in the northern states, returning last March. Since her mission she has served as stenographer at the St. George Temple and with the local Selective Selec-tive Service board. During her school work at the Dixie college she was employed for most of three years as a clerk in the local post office. Lieutenant Holmes is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Holmes of Logan. He is a graduate of the department of engineering of the U. S. A. C. While at' the state college he was connected with the R. O. T. C. unit of that institution, rising to the rank of commanding officer, and was secretary of the Engineers' club. He has spent much of the past year in the vicinity of St. George in the interest in-terest of mining engineering. In connection with the persent war program he was recalled to the U. S. A. 'C. as instructor in military mili-tary science. . . Following their- Sept. 12th marriage mar-riage the couple plan a brief honeymoon to the Grand Canyon before returning to Logan to reside. re-side. While in Salt Lake City last week end she was entertained at an informal luncheon and party given by two of her former missionary mis-sionary companions, Fern L. Nelson Nel-son and Marion L. Edman, at the Edman home. Three other missionary mis-sionary associates, Clara Hollings-hause, Hollings-hause, Marie Gatzmeier and Dora Elsnor, making with Miss Jarvis, six former northern states missionaries mis-sionaries were among the group entertained. |
