Engagement of Miss Marie Mickelson Announced This Week By Her Parents Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mickelson are announcing this week the engagement en-gagement of their daughter, Marie, to Pfc. Elsworth (Sandy) Christiansen Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Elsworth Christiansen of Emery, Utah. No definite date has been set for the marriage, but and early autumn wedding is planned, pending Pfc. Christiansen's Christian-sen's furlough privileges. Miss Mickleson attended Dixie junior college and after her graduation grad-uation accepted employment on the local telephone exchange, where she remained until April, 1943, when she entered military service as a WAAC, training at Ft. Des Moines, Iowa. She was released from this branch of the service in August, arriving home Aug. 22nd, and spent the first week of September visiting her fiance's family in Emery. Mr. Christiansen graduated from the Emery county high school and attended Carbon college at Price. He has been in the Marine Corps for two years, and has served one year overseas. Home recently on a 30-day furlough, he spent several days in St. George prior to his return to San Diego at the conclusion of his leave.
