Show i Miss Ada Hafen Entertained Prior To Marriage In St. George Temple Friday Miss Ada Hafen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Hafen, who will become the bride of McKay Neil-son Neil-son Friday in ceremonies at the St. George Temple, was variously honored at social affairs during the past week. On Wednesday evening relatives from Santa Clara, St. George and Washington Washing-ton assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Staheli where they joined in showering the bride-elect with miscellaneous gifts. A program of games, toasts and stunts, planned by her sisters, Carma Staheli, Ruth and Lenore Hafen, preceded serving of refreshments. re-freshments. Thursday evening a group of intimate girl friends entertained at the home of Miss Fawn Schmutz, at a miscellaneous bundle shower with more than 50 guests attending. A program of music and singing included violin numbers by Irene Everett, duets by Melba Baker and Alice Cannon; Can-non; vocal solo, Mrs. Mack Jackson, Jack-son, and an original pianologue medley arranged and presented by Miss Naomi Fordham and Miss Schmutz, followed by a clever stunt, "Sister's Trousseau" in costume and with a clothesline full of clothes, presented by Carma Staheli, Ruth and Lenore Hafen, sisters of the bride to be. Following the program refreshments refresh-ments were served in the lamp-lighted lamp-lighted garden, with Miss Dessie Jones of Gunlock in charge. To each gift was fastened a long colored balloon which, when pin-pricked pin-pricked by the guest of honor, released a folded strip of paper carrying items of wisdom for the bride. Miss Hafen entertained at a trousseau tea at the home of her parents from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday more than 100 friends and relatives rela-tives attending. The long tea table which was covered with a heavy lace cloth held a center cut glass punch bowl flanked by triple candlebra with lighted white and pink candles. White and pink oleander blossoms were used in decorations. Virginia Prince and Dessie Jones were pourers with the Misses Ruth and Lenore Hafen, sisters of the bride-elect, a cousin, Elaine Hafen and Miss Rhoda Cannon serving. Guests were met on the lawn by the groom's mother, Mrs. Israel Neil-son, Neil-son, who wore a street length model in old rose lace. Miss Hafen assisted by her sister, Mrs. Woodrow Staheli of Washington, displayed the gifts. |
