Show Many Attend Concert Given By Ladies' Chorus From the opening, a cappella number, "Grant Unto Us Peace," until the closing choral, "When Day Is Done," the Dixie college ladies' chorus held a large audience audi-ence in rapt attention Wednesday night in the tabernacle. Miss Barbara Rasmussen, director, proved that she is a capable conductor con-ductor as well as pianist, and she was ably assisted by Mrs. Carol Lloyd, accompanist, Mrs. Lerin Porter and Mrs. Virgil Snow, readers. Probably outstanding on the program was Rubinstein's "Seraphic "Sera-phic Song," with Earl J. Bleak, Stanton Schmutz .and Mrs. Irene Everett playing the string trio. Soloists were Joyce Bithell, Lorraine Lor-raine Jorgensen and Pearl Meech-am, Meech-am, and all did exceptionally well. The chorus numbers were interspersed inter-spersed with group numbers and' the musical readings. The concert was in verity another example -of true Dixie culture. |
