Show HiCiEWOlf CALLEDBY DEATH Mrs. Sarah Isom Humphries Died Sunday Afier Lonir Illness; Funeral Tuesday. Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Isom Humphries of Hurricane, Hur-ricane, who died at her home there Sunday evening following a seven week illness, were held Tuesday in the high school auditorium au-ditorium under the direction of the South ward with Bishop Ira Bradshaw presiding. Music was furnished by the ward choir, and the speakers were James Stanworth, James Jep-son, Jep-son, Bishop Frank Johnson of the North ward, Claud Hirschi, stake president and Bishop Bradshaw. A vocal C'o was rendered by Mrs. William Wilson. Mrs. Humphries was born August 12, 1S7S at Mountain Vale, Utah, a daughter of William Wil-liam and Catherine Wolfe Isom. When she was a young girl her parents moved to Virgin. She was married on February 6, 1904 to Joseph W. Humphries in the St. George temple, and they continued to reside in Virgin until March 1911 when they moved to Hurricane to make their home. While living in Virgin she was an active worker in the Primary, but later in life, her hearing became impaired and she was obliged to retire from public work. For the past seven weeks she had been confined to her bed on account of yericose veins and an enlarged liver, and last Friday night was stricken with quick pneumonia. Surviving are her husband ! and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Oscar Johnson, John-son, and Mrs. Alvin Hardy, Springdale; Owen, Afton and Pearl of Hurricane. Two brothers, bro-thers, Thomas Isom and Richard Rich-ard Isom, Hurricane, and three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Wright and Mrs. Lizzie Wright, Hurricane and Mrs. Charles Stratton, Hinckley, Hin-ckley, also survive. |
