D. S. church, veteran gardner of the St. George Temple grounds and donor for the biology department of the Dixie junior college. This college endowment is the highlight high-light of his entire life, in the thought that even though childless child-less himself, he can thus help youth to better education. Although he is crippled with rheumatism, Christy still makes his daily trips to the Temple grounds, just to see that everything every-thing is going right, and to chat with the gardners and keep contact con-tact with the place that furnished furn-ished him daily work for sixty years of his life. Now on a generous gen-erous pension from the church he is able to be comfortable, well cared for and happy, although he greatly misses the many people with whom he used to converse on the Temple grounds and who have now passed 'away. This year, Christy was dinner guest of Pres. Harold S. Snow at the Temple and received congratulations con-gratulations from the workers, along with birthday greetings and gifts from friends in St. George and elsewhere. For him the day was filled with total happiness. |
