This newly recruited group of pointy-eared. volunteers includes an eclectic group of energetic, fun-loving will join last year’s organizers in putting on another season of races and events for telemark skiers of every variety. Look for an expanded race schedule this season that will include two classic terrain races, three slalom, and four GS races. All Wasatch Telemark Series gate races are sanctioned by the United States Telemark Ski Association. Racers registered with USTSA will receive their insurance for the day and be awarded points for every race, giving them a national ranking. The Utah Winter Games crew will again be hosting a clinic in early December and sponsor a double GS/Classic Terrain event in January. Two other demo and clinics days are planned in hopes of bringing telemark gear manufacturers from Salt Lake and beyond, to the slopes where folks can try out the latest and _ greatest gear and pick up a few pointers. These clinics will be paired | with either a fun race or a regular points race in the afternoon. Dual Moguls will round out the season in the spring and be a great excuse to get out, slather on some sun screen, cheer on your favorite bump , dog, and join the end of the season party. Organizers are also working with several different race departments to set up a telemark train- | ing program where racers and non-racers alike can come out, shave — down their times, and get some input on their turns. Also, look for expanded categories for racers—a youth division (19 and under), a masters division (35 and over), and a never-ever category— means there’s a spot in the limelight for everybody.
