Show s 1 i i Carl A. Sweatfield Sweatfield dies in Vernal Carl A. Sweatfield, 56, of Vernal, died at the Ashley Valley Medical Center, March If), 1UK3. Born April 8, l'J2 in Vernal, he was the son of Alvin Edward and Mabel Isabell Green Sweatfield. He married Ruby Wilson. He was a drilling superintendent for Kerr Mtgee for 35 years; a veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. The last 12 years, he lived in Amarillo, Texas. They moved back to his home in Vernal for retirement. Survivors are his wife of Vernal; a son and daughter, Terry S. Sweatfield of Baton Rouge, La.; and Mrs. Richard (Karleen) Lloyd of Salt Lake City ; three grandchildren, Stormy D., Nivin M. and Ricky W., all of Salt Lake City; two brothers and a sister, Edward (Tex) Sweatfield of Vernal; Glen 0. Sweatfield of Roswell, N.M.; Mrs. Victor L. (Geneva) Wilkins of Salt Lake City. Funeral services were Thursday, March 17 in the Vernal Mortuary Chapel. Bishop Lanny Kay conducted and Alvin Kay spoke. Leland McNeill dedicated the grave. Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park cemetery with military honors by the American Legion. Pallbearers were Edward "Tex" Sweatfield, Allen Sweatfield, Chris Wilkins, Rick Wilkins, Victor Wilkins, and Stephen Richens. |
