Officials Meet to Plan Membership Drive Officers of the Granger-Hunte- r Chamber of Commerce met last Saturday to make final plans for their membership drive. The newly organized group will make an all out effort to contact every merchant and business man area. in the Granger-Hunte- r Kenneth Mr. Coombs, Jr., president said We are going to contact anyone we think will be interested in being a member of this group. We feel we have a great opportunity to help develop our area and need the membership and support of everyone. Don Blackham was appointed chairman of the membership committee. Four Granger Students to Attend Clinic Four Granger High School students will attend the Photographers and Sportwriter Clinic to be held on the University of Utah campus Wednesday, March 8th. The four students are Chuck Thompson, Barry Moore, Bert Ivie, and Lynn Cunningham. Representatives from high schools throughout the state have been invited, according to Parry D. Sorenson, acting head of the Department of Journalism at the University. Guest speakers for the sports-write- rs division will include Hack Miller and Dee Chipman of the Deseret News, while John Mooney and Tom Korologos will represent the Salt Lake Tribune. Ray G. Jones, J. M. Heslop, Deseret News; Ross Weiser, Borge 'Salt Lake Tribune; and E. L. Romney, former commissioner of athletics for the Skyline conference, will participate in the photographers division. The students will attend the first game of the Class A High School Basketball Tournament held Wednesday afternoon in Einer Neilson Fieldhouse. After the game the students will submit game coverage stories and action photographs of the game. Scholarships will be awarded to the winners in each division, compliments of the Deseret News. An-erse- n, Evaluation of Granger High School Underway The visiting committee consists of educated men and women from all this area. There will be approximately 76 who will evaluate Granger High to see if it is an accredited school. These men are assigned to evaluate in the different fields in which they are experienced. They will be visting Granger on March 6t 7 and 9. willlV " f Attention to Miss Kearns Contest Announced Kearns Jaycees announce the annual Miss Kearns Contest to be held in April. Chairman, Farrol Lambert stated the pageant is open to all unmarried girls 18 to 25. The winner will be entered in the Miss Utah Pageant. The only fee or sponsors fee will again be $25. The entry fee helps pay for the trophies and the Miss Kearns winners gown that she will wear in the Miss Utah Pageant. Civic and commercial organizations may also sponsor a young lady. All those interested may contact Farroll Lambert at 4976 So. 4460 West for entry blanks. Games Night Games Night is planned for the SL Francis Xavier Catholic Church this Saturday night at the parish hall starting at 8 p.m. The Jackpot is $125 and a special game for $60 will be played.
