One of his first statements was, "The scriptures are one of the great manifestations that God loves us." His question to students was, "What role will they play in our lives and how they will influence our lives?" Brother Ball suggested four ways to let the scriptures into "your hearts and the hearts of your children." He first suggested using scriptures regularly. "The scriptures not only have the solutions to life's problems. but also the validations to life's successes." Ball continued, "If we could use the scriptures to validate life's success and reward our friends or loved ones and specifically our children as they are growing, they will have a positive feeling toward the word of God." His second suggestion was to help children memorize the scriptures. Ball explained when children know the scriptures it becomes part of them and will come to mind in moments of temptation or decision-making. "Sermon in a sentence" was his third suggestion. The driver was driving on a suspended license and had a warrant for his arrest. The driver was arrested and taken to Orem Police Department where he posted bail and was released. April 4: FIRE - UVSC Police and Orem Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the Woodbury Business building. The fire was limited to a mechanical air handler in the ceiling. NEWS BRIEFS In a news article in the April 7 edition concerning UVSC's literary journal Touchstones, Amber Watson, the Editor-in-Chief of ihc journal, was misquoted, changing the overall tone of the article in a way that misrepresented former issues of Touchstones. The College Time* apologizes for the oversight. Watson's response to the previous article can be read in the Opinions section on page A9. Junior Brandon Keller from West Jordan won a Wii from the March contest in Career Services and Student Employment (CSSE), sponsored by the Utah Community Credit Union. David Jones and Aaron Smith also won complimentary' passes to TrafaJga. Student wins Wii at CSSE Students participated in career-building activities such as mock interviews, finding internships on the job board, and meeting with a career counselor. With their participation, they earned putts for the drawing. Each hole in one was worth one entry form for the Wit.
