She regrets leaving her work with the environmental studies program and sincerely hopes that someone will take it over and continue its purpose. Ewert hopes that someone on campus will take up the initiative to keep the program running or that one of the newly hired history instructors will have a background in that area. Ewert has served in many positions outside of the classroom such as chair of the Library Committee, Chair of the Humanities Department and a member of the Title III Grant Committee.
