Show November 2 Thursday Lady Eagles qualify for regional playoffs with win over CNCC by Richard Hlckmon CU- Women's Volleyball -- sports editor On OcL 27 the Lady Eagles hosted Utah Valley Community College the seventh ranked team in the nation and had them against the ropes most of the night Just before the game began coach Colon took the opportunity to introduce his sophomores on the team They include JancalPabst from Price Ut Tina Sperry from Nephi Ut and Charisse Pincombc from Honcyvillc Ut When play finally got under way CEU looked determined to win their final home game of the season as they jumped out front quick with a lead behind the serving of Pabst 0 Cynthia Tadd proved to be the for occasion as well pushing up the Eagles even further out front with a strong cross court spike and Rachel Skinner helped coming off the bench with some good serving of her own This brought UVCC to call their fust time out with CEU up 1 When play resumed the Wolverines began their long come back trail with strong net play and before long cut the lead in half Pincombc helped the Eagles gain back some momentum with a powerful spike and assisted teammate Pam Dupin with a block Barbara Skaggs also chipped in with a block of her own Pincombe continued to help CEU at the net when she came up with a big spike on a UVCC overset to help the Eagles edge out to a 10-- 4 lead and another Wolverines' time out The UVCC coach must of hit the right buttons during the time out because they came out on Are and before long the big CEU lead was now one poinL Pl-- ' £ iV -
