Show PRECINCT PRIMARIES. The several wards have during the week held meetings to elect the delegates to be sent to represent them in the County Convention, which is to be held in the Tabernacle basement to-morrow. In the first precinct Jas. A. Leishman was elected chairman and Joel Ricks, secretary. Nominations for delegates were made which called forth some lively balloting but good humor prevailed. Messrs. J. Z. Stewart, Willard Maughan, B. M. Lewis and A. D. Thatcher were chosen. Jas. A. Leishman, W. Maughan and E. M. Curtis were elected as precinct committee for the ensuing year. At the 2nd Precinct meeting Mayor R. S. Campbell was elected chairman and Alfred James secretary. It was moved and carried that R. S. Campbell and Jos. Quinney be the delegates to represent the meeting at the County Convention. R. S. Campbell, J. A. McAlister and Thos. Irvine were afterwards chosen as precinct committee for the ensuing year. In the third precinct John T. Caine, Jr., was elected chairman, and Richard Yeates, secretary. Nominations for delegates were made from the house, W. E. Partington and Wm. Watterson being chosen. John T. Caine, Jr., John J. Johnson and Richard Yeates were elected as precinct committee for the ensuing year. At the fourth precinct meeting, Eli Bell was elected chairman. Franklin McNeil Sec'y. It was moved and carried unanimously, that H. K. Cannon, Eli Bell and Jed. M. Blair be the delegates to represent the People's Party at the County Convention. We failed to obtain a report of the fifth precinct. |
