Each year, the NSTA holds an area convention. In the past they've been held in pluies like Las Vegas, Nevada and Phoenix, Arizona. Teachers from 25-2- Altamont Elementary, Altamont High, Roosevelt Jr. High, Roosevelt Middle School, and Union High attended. Teachers attended workshops on evciy science topic imaginable: science, chemistryphysical science, cart hspuce science, environmental science, integratedgenoral science, and physicspliysical science. Amy Cooper, one of the participants from our chapter placed first in the individual category, and our Chapter also placed fupt. The prize for the Chapter category was $150 cash. Amy Cooper also won $150 and an all expense-pai-d trip to in Kansas City, Missouri this summer. We would like to thank all those that participated in this event. On Halloween, some of our play cast members went g and handed out flyers about our upcoming musical, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," which will be held on Nov. 16, 17, 19, and 20. There was a junior high volleyball tournament held in Duchesne this past week, sponsored by the high school volleyball team. On Friday, Nov. 2, the FCCLA h dance and sponsored a invited students from Tabiona and Altamont to participate. Finally, the senior class is selling dinner rolls for Thanksgiving $ $:) a dozen.
