Show TRUTH. SHORT LINE CONTROLS. A gentleman, prominent in traffic circles connected with the Oregon Short Line, Informs Truth that, while its article connected with rates via the new Los Angeles line, was timely and well meant, there is not as much ground for fear of competition by Los Angeles jobbers as might be expected. The Short Line controls the situation, he said, and will continue u control it. It controls a majority of the stock of the new road, and will dictate in all matters of passenger and freight traffic. Hence there will be changes made in rates to Salt Lake City which will prevent Los Angeles jobbers from getting any foothold in Utah territory to the disadvantage of Utah wholesalers. You may look for a great change in the railroad situation here when this road and the Moffat line are completed, because in brdOr to give this State the benefit charges will be reduced to figures where the wholesale man can successfully compete with the water rates to southern California. This matter has been recently discussed and I know what. I am talking about This statement is another verification of Truths position concerning the ownership of the new road to the coast. The Short Line is the controlling element, despite everything that has been bruited about by those newspapers who have displayed such For four days the Ancient and Acenergy in declaring Clark, KetiffiS fit al. the whole thing in the construction cepted Scottish Rite Free Masons of the coast line. jt Truth is informed that within the next few weeks a definite announcement will be' ri&de tty the Goulds to the effect that n extension of the Rio Grande We'Sterii frill he built to some point on the western toast, thus giving the Gould system & frets tern outlet. The payments on $1,000 homes is only $2.50 a month until contracts mature, then only $8.50 a month, until paid for. That beats paying rent. The money you pay is applied on the purchase price of the home. On this plan you will own your home in a very few years. H. Lemare. The people of Sydney are the proud possessors of the largest organ in the world. The only pipes 64 feet long are in that organ. The tremendous size of these can be appreciated by remembering nat the largest pipes in the Tabernacle organ are 32 feet long. This great organ is in the town hall at Sydney, and is worthy of the best performers. Mr. Lemare has been engaged to give a series of recitals on this instrument during July and August of this year. On his way westward Mr. Lemare, who is acknowledged to be the greatest English organist, has consented to stop and give one recital in the First Congregational church In Salt Lake City. Although a young man, only 37 years of age, probably more people have been charmed by his playing than have listened to any other modern organist. -- If you are going to. KANSAS CITY, ST.
