Show tooele thoele accordionist wins second 91 prize U on A n radio show A regular monday night session at the utah theatre in salt lake city for the flight to fame pro bro gram seems to be all the fad for tooele thoele s young musicians par ticul arly accordion players just one week ago margie me mc laws appeared on the Inter moun tarn tain network program jack houtz also of tooele thoele and also an accord ion player went on the air play ing one of his own compositions hutz boogie miss me mc laws won first place on her show and a chance to appear pa next week again st the finalists while mr houtz was awarded second prize and 1500 jack currently playing with the western Sere naders dance band began fiddling with the piano at the age of 2 and has kept at music in some form or other until the present time although he has never taken music lessons and plays entirely by ear no one will doubt that jack is an accomplished musician as good as any in this part of the country and has been on several programs during the past he has written some 23 pieces and it is his ambition now to have them published and to that end he plans a sojourn to the coast upon completion of his schooling at he wants to make music his career and in his 19 years he has made a pretty good start jack lives with his grandmother mrs jennie martin at 60 east 3rd north H his is mother mrs bernadine nelson lives at 27 park avenue anyone who would like a chance to appear on this show can obtain an audition appointment by writ ing to either radio station KLO in ogden or KALL salt lake city there are plenty more talented folks in tooele thoele so it may be a regular thing from now on ta hear somebody from here on the program |
