Show lt issawi rill thanksgiving call toky A surprise call from their son in in tokyo came to mr and mrs geo H hawn so ath street last friday morning at 1 30 the call was a thanksgiving present to the cawns who have not seen their boy lt robert hawn of the 1st cavalry division for over a year f lt hawn is a graduate of ogden high school where he attained the rank of lt col in the ROTC upon his graduation he enlisted in the army at this time he was 17 years old and was sent to oregon state college by the U S army after taking officers training in arkan sas and georgia he was commis signed at the age of 18 and is now assistant personnel officer at his present station though he is but 19 thanksgiving in tokyo was cele berated 32 hours ahead of thanks giving in the USA U S A so lt hawn had eaten his turkey long before his folks in tooele thoele had he report ed that he had received the pack age his parents had sent and that everything was fine there the call cost 35 to make and by the time the young soldier had talked to his mother dad and sister shir ley the three minutes was about over he said he ho would call again on christmas eve eye which will be dec over hers here he still has two more years to serve in japan having signed to stay for 3 years the cawns have lived in tooele thoele for about two years mr hawn is a teacher at tooele thoele high school and mrs hawn works in the mail and record department at tooele thoele ordnance depot i mr val simpson visited at the home of his parents p arents the past week returning to logan sunday where I 1 he will enter the for the winter quarter miss leatrice shibley and her holiday guest miss patricia asch anz of pocatello idaho idah 0 spent the thanksgiving holidays at the home of mr and mrs mansur shibley returning to logain sunday mr and mrs myrle myrie russell of burley idaho formerly of tooele thoele relatives were recent visitors of friends and mr and mrs jack and tiny daughter kathy jo of logan spent the thanksgiving holiday at the home of their par ants mr and mrs mr s J M and family mr and mrs vaughn gordon and son were guests g bests at the home of their parents mr and mrs max gordon of this city mr and mrs ned king of provo spent the weekend in tooele thoele visit ing their parents parent s mr and mrs jack dark clark miss barbara hector a student at the B Y U in provo spent the holidays with her parents mr and mrs winford hector |
