D. 8S. church, presided over by Bishorc W. R. McCcnkie. The speakers were Bishop McConkie and Howard Lance, who reviewed Mr. Johnson's life and paid a tribute to his record. The cpening prayer was given by Hyrum Allen and the closing prayer by Bert Dalton. Musical numbers were rendered by Mrs. Tom Taylor, Mrs. Max Somerville, Mrs. Blanche Mellenthin and Mrs. Lloyd Somreville, with Mrs. V. P. Walker as accomyranist. At the cemetery, a hymn was sung by the ladies' quartet, and _ the dedicatory prayer was offered by Bishop McConkie: Mr. Johnson was born April 8, 1861, at Santaquin, Utah, a son of George Washington and Emeline Burdick Johnson. He moved to Moab with his parents in 1884, and resided here continuously until 1935 when he moved to Provo. On January 1, 1884, he was married to Miss Martha Emeline Hill in the Manti L. D. S. temple. During his 51 years of residence in Moab, Mr. Johnscn took a very active part in public and church affairs. He held ‘many oftices of trust, includiug bisheo of Moab ward, postmast.r, member of the tcwn board, memu:r of the school board, and justice of the peace. He was an active member of the L. D. S. church, and was the third bishop of the local ward, he was also a member of the Provo camp of the Sons and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Mrs. Johnson died in 1930, and in 1935 he moved to Provo. He married Lillian Elnora Reynolds in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple on March 13, 1935. Surviving besides his widow are: Six sons and a daughter, Dave A. and Milton E. Johnson, Moab; Homer Johnson, Tooele; Lawrence Don F.
