Show FORMER MOAB TEACHER DIES AT SALT LAKE CITY annie D palmer 68 assistant director of the social service department of the L D 8 relief society died at her home in salt lake city saturday following an operation mrs mm palmer was a former teacher in the moab schools and was the sister of mrs may hammond of provo widow of the late clyde A hammond of moab she was bom born in fairview sanpete county march 16 1864 she attended brigham young university and the utah state agricultural college later teaching english at the former school while doing L D S missionary work in samoa in 1894 her first husband R M X stevens died she was later married to A W palmer of provo mrs palmer went into social work ork in 1917 during the world war as the executive secretary of the utah county chapter of red cro cross sa under the direction of the utah state relief society she organized a family welfare society in provo prior to death she I 1 was a special worker tor for the castle gate commission and case supervisor of the welfare department of the L D S relief society well known as a writer mrs palmer had written a one act play which will be produced at the next relief society convention besides her husband she Is survived iby by five brothers and sisters J va W christensen fairview Pair view dr W jo 0 christensen wellsville mrs jo hales salt lake mrs may hammond provo and mrs carl fairview I 1 |
