II. , - Church Rites Join Couple in Marriage The Community Baptist Bap-tist Church was the setting set-ting for the marriage of Shirley Ann Velasquez to Glenn Edward Jones, Saturday evening, August Aug-ust 11. Reverend Linden T. Curtis officiated at the double-ring ceremony. cere-mony. Shirley is the daughter daught-er of Mr. and Mrs. Wil-fredo Wil-fredo Velasquez of Drag-erton. Drag-erton. Utah, and Glenn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Jones of Moab. The bride, escorted down the aisle by her father, wore an all white nylon dress with an a-line a-line skirt and empire bodice. Appliqued alen-con alen-con lace edged the scooped scoop-ed neckline and front of the gown. The hem was ruffled with the alencon lace and fell back to create a chapel length train. The gown was completed with a chapel length mantilla. Her bouquet bou-quet was of red carnations carna-tions and white rosebuds rose-buds accented with babysbreath. Altar decorations included in-cluded two-seven branch candleabras and altar bouquets of white mums and red gladiolus. Red satin ribbons completed the bouquets which were arranged on white Grecian Gre-cian columns. Music was played by organist Mary Beth Ross. Robert Velasquez, brother of the bride, sang "Make It With You" and was accompanied by Fran Townsend. Maid of Honor was Shirley Jones, sister of the groom. Also attending attend-ing the bride were Vickie and Vivian Barker, and Linda Rueman. They were all attired in red floor length gowns of polyester knit with white lace around the neck and in wrist length white gloves. They carried nosegays of red and white carnations. Flower girl was Beverly Bev-erly Madrid of Drager-ton. Drager-ton. She was attired similar sim-ilar to the bridesmaids and carried a small basket bas-ket of red and white carnations. car-nations. Best man for the ceremony cere-mony was David Buller of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Groomsmen were Cleo Buller, also of Albuquerque, and Wil-fredo Wil-fredo Velasquez, Jr. and Robert Velasquez, brothers bro-thers of the bride. The groom and groomsmen were attired in Prince Edward style black tuxedos tuxe-dos and white ruffled shirts with black edging. They all wore red carnation car-nation boutineers. Ring bearer was Mario Molina, cousin of the bride. He also wore a black tuxedo and carried car-ried a white satin ring pillow. C'andlelighters for the ceremony were Danny Velasquez, brother of the bride, and Cynthia Tib-etts. Tib-etts. I'shcrs for the wedding wed-ding were Vernon and Rocky Erb. Vickie Victor Vic-tor attended the guest book and presented guests with scrolls in honor of the event from the bride and groom. Mother of the bride wore a turquoise dress with a sleeveless coat of turquoise and gold metallic brocade. She had a white carnation corsage. Mother of the Groom wore a red and white polyester dress and had a red carnation corsage. After exchanging vows., the couple partook in Communion. A reception dinner honoring the couple cou-ple was held in the Fellowship Fel-lowship Hall of the church immediately following fol-lowing the ceremony. The tables were decorated decor-ated with snifters containing con-taining red and white roses and with white candles. A four tiered wedding cake highlighted the bride's table with candleabras can-dleabras at each side. The cake was decorated with red roses and tiers were separated by Grecian Gre-cian columns with doves and wedding bells. Serving the cake and punch were .linna Rea, Charolette I'urcell, Debbie Deb-bie Diamanti. and .Jim -tnie Lyn Stocks. In charge of the gift table were Cheryl Curtis Cur-tis and Phyllis Phillips. Out of town guests attending at-tending the wedding were Mrs. Lillie Hilbro, grandmother of the groom, I'organ. Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Reese and Cynthia of Wichita, K.msas; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dungan of Casper, Wyoming; Mr. and Mrs. Cvalso .1. Velasquez, Ve-lasquez, and family of Youngsville, New Mexico; Mexi-co; Mr. and Mrs. Hil-la.ar Hil-la.ar Madrid and family, fami-ly, Mr. and Mrs. I'.ze-kiel I'.ze-kiel Cordova and Ruby, i Mr. and Mrs. Milton Rea and Jinna, Mr. and Mrs. John Purdy and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Five-coat, Five-coat, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Padilla, and Mrs. John Lauffcr all from Dragerton. Clah; and Debbie Diamanti and Carol Basso from Price, Itah. After a honeymoon in the Pacific Northwest the young couple are at home in Moab. |
