Show Services Held Friday For Mrs. Ida Phillips Funeral services were held last Friday, Sept. 21, at the Community Com-munity Baptist Church for Ida Marie Phillips, 73, who passed away at Allen Memorial Hospital Hos-pital at 2:50 a.m. Sept. 19. Rev. Emil M. Balla officiated at the service. ser-vice. Mrs. Phillips, a resident res-ident of Moab for the past 35 years, was born March 7, 1900 at Cairo, West Virginia, the daughter of John Lee and Addie Hewitt Carder. Car-der. Her childhood was spent at Redvalle, Colorado. Colo-rado. In Sept. of 1919, she married Clint Lee Sly at Nucla, Colorado. Prior to moving to Moab, they lived in Horsehead Point, Utah, east of Monticello from 1922 until 1938. Mr. Sly passed away here in Moab May 15, 1955. . On Sept. 15, 1957, Mrs. Phillips married Earl Leech, who passed away Nov. 26, 1961. She married mar-ried William L Phillips Phil-lips December 27j, 1966, however he passed away on March 8, 1967 in California. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Baptist Church and was very active in women' activities act-ivities with the church. She was a partner in the S & I Thrift Shop at the time of her death. For a number of years, Mrs. Phillips was an active member of the Women's Literary Liter-ary Club. Survivors include two sons, John Lee Sly of Pueblo, Colo, and Ira C. Sly, Magna, Utah; four daughters, Mrs. Ed (Bessie) Balslinger, Idaho; Mrs. Angus (Ruth) Beeson, Moab; Mrs. Bobby (Marietta) Andrews, Corsicana, Texas; and Mrs. Harry (June) Cleaveland, Moab. One sister, Mrs. Margaret Cote of Men-tone, Men-tone, Calif, as well as two half-brothers and six half-sisters also survive. There are 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
