Show MRS J J DAUGHTER OF postmaster AND SIRS F M PASSES BURIAL AT MOAB mrs eveylon 22 wife of john J of fort hall idaho and youngest daughter of postmaster and mrs F M shafer of moab died at a hospital at blackfoot Blac kloot idaho friday at 2 30 p m following an illness of a months duration death resulted from septicaemia following childbirth the body was brought to moab where funeral services and interment were had tuesday mrs shafer mother and marion shafer of price a brother left for blackfoot thursday upon receipt of word of the serious illness of mrs death thorton but did not reach her before j funeral services were held at malad idaho sunday and the body then brought to moab for burial services were held at the L D S chapel at moab tuesday afternoon with george A newell of the ward bishopric presiding opening prayer was offered by reed somerville followed Joll owed by a hymn how gentle god s commands by the choir loyd somerville was the first speaker and was followed by a solo in that beautiful land by mrs C J meador W R mcconkle was the concluding speaker offering words of comfort to the relatives the choir sang 1 I need thee every hour and the invocation was offered by mr newell at the cemetery the dedicatory prayer was offered by reed som orvllle and the choir sang nearer my god to thee mrs thornton was bom at moab april 3 1910 she grew to womanhood at moab attending the local schools she was marbled to john J four years ago and after living in idaho for some time they came to moab about a year ago to make their home they returned to malad idaho in july of last year and later moved to fort hall to reside mrs took an active part in church work there serving as a counsellor in the presidency of the M I 1 A mrs thornton Is survived by her husband two sons jack aged two years and george francis one month of age her parents postmaster and mrs F M shafer of moab and the following brothers and sisters mrs sibyl sullivan indianapolis ind mrs geneva allcox kenilworth mrs may jensen salt lake city mrs grace buckley san pedro calif marion shafer price albert earl and dean shafer moab among the out of town relatives who came to moab to attend the services were mr and mrs marion shafer and baby price mr and mrs quinten allcox and two daughters kenilworth mr and mrs edmundson and mr and mrs W E jensen salt lake city and mrs olive bailey price mrs was a very lovable young woman highly esteemed by all who knew her during her school days in moab she was very popular among the young folks and her untimely death la a severe blow to her host of friends here the deep sympathy of the entire community goes out to the stricken husband parents and other relatives |
