Show 4 Year-End Report Issued In Moab by Police Dept. Police Chief Ken Aikins released re-leased a year end report of police activities for the past t year earlier this week. During Dur-ing this past year, officer . Carl Davis graduated from the Basic Police Training School at Weber State College, Col-lege, and the other members of the City Police force attended at-tended two training sessions conducted by the peace officers of-ficers of the state. A nightly check was made on the doors of businesses in an effort to help prevent theft and bur- . glary. I The contacts made are far to numerous and varied to list, but it is interesting to note that the two cars in service ser-vice this past year traveled a total of 74,337 miles. There were 514 citations issued, the largest number of them for speeding, with 1,346 traffic traf-fic contacts being made. There were 84 traffic accidents acci-dents adding another $5,692. estimated damage total of $32X88.65, with minor accidents acci-dents ading another $5,692.00. During the year, there were 22 children reported lost, all of them were found. There were 17 complaints of vandalism van-dalism with a damage estimate esti-mate of $1,460.00 The dog pound reported 786 animals picked up, 704 of them destroyed. des-troyed. Chief Aikins closed his report with the statement "As a department, we are continuing to strive for better public relations with our business bus-iness men and citizens of this community, also within our city and county offices, and our neighboring Police and Sheriff Departments." |
