In the 1945 municipal election 1983 votes were cast, 295 more than were cast in the recent election. Precinct votes cast with this years and the 1945 votes listed in that respective order are as follows: East, 378, 446; Northwest, in DOWNEY DEFEATS MULLINS IN HELPER CITY RACE A. D. Keller, Price citys incumbent couneilmen, Harvey Thomas, John Holden, Murray Mathis and Marcel Jeanselme, stepped right back into the offices they sought as the final tabulations were recorded late Tuesday night. These returns are not official and will not become so until the canvass is made by the city council Monday noon as provided by law. The return of the incumbent council is supposedly tantamount to an endorsement of the present administrations policies. Mr. Keller, who took the place of outgoing Mayor J. Rracken Lee, led the field of candidates with the greatest number of votes in his favor and he led his opponent on the Modern ticket, Henry H. Mills, in all five of the citys precincts.
