Show I Page Afi .... The Summit County Bee North Summit Restore the old color that once graced your hair Before bleaches and rinses took' Senior Citizens BY LOUISE WALLACE Just think, by this time next week Christmas, 1998 will be almost a thing of the past. The gifts will have been opened and admired and if youre lucky the wrappings have been put away. Time to put your feet up and reflect on what Christmas ia all about and what the birth of the Christ Child has done for each one of us. One of the biggest blessings we have, I think is the privilege of living now and in thin splendid part of the world. Dont you agree? President Delia took charge and we enjoyed the nice warm fire and the extra warm greetings from our friends. We even exchanged a few hugs which is a no no these days. Now 1 wonder; could we actually be sued for sexual harassment at our ages? Best be careful though but it is hard to break a lifetime habit Guess, I wont worry. The Center was made extra cheerful and really felt like Christmas when Marie Wilde treated with a big box of chocolates and the band played die beautiful Christmas carols they prepared for next weeks program. We were happy to have Laura Roberts back with the musical family but we missed Lynn and Pat u Anderson. Lynn has been one miserable low. Had surgery earlier in the week to unblock the sinus passage. AH is not 100 percent okay though and he fel- will be having more treatments. Hope all goes well In the meantime, Pat has carried on, done her share of worrying like all good wives do and to top it all off, some scoundrel stole the license plate off their jeep while they were in Salt Lake City. Now coping with regular problems in a big city is bad enough to have to handle additional problems is almost too much. Its no wonder she is a bit tired. We are happy to report that Gait Warburton has improved vision since his cataract surgery. Bet those of you who have had that done, know exactly how he feels. Then our friend, Marie Warburton is out of the care center and living with her daughter, Joan Lewis. Joan just retired from the work force at Zions bank. Then, there is Ella Adkins. I didn't even know she had broken a vertebra nearly 2 months ago. I missed her at church but figured she is just off visiting family or doing all the things she normally does since she hasnt been one to waste much time. Glad shes home and doing okay. Whs good to see her. Santa was in town Saturday and he left this message for all you women over forty: If I Could I Would Senior Citizens Things were bustling at Seniors wu election time with Hfcifty Nygaard spinning things into action as our voting Chairman. The ballots were issued, votes cast, then Henry went off to the bathroom" (he swears he said back-roowith assistants TWila Crandall and Cumorah Brinton to count the ballots and announce our new leaders. Waiting for the votes to come in, I asked our present President, Gordon Taylor,' bow long he had been the president. His reply, Lets see now, it was when Vem got real sick... llene Atkinson told me, Its been a long time, and Miss Elaine said, Hes beat here as long as me!" Im reminded of when 1 first came to the area and would ask where someone lived. Id get.. .three houses down from the big yellow house next door to so and so. No matter Gordon, we know its been long enough to extend a great, big Thank you for all you have done" and will continue to do for the Senior Program. As you know, Gordon is very active as County Representative for the Seniors and we appreciate all he does for us. We want to give a warm welcome to new President Glen Smith. Glen has donated endless time and energy to us throughout the years as our ail around handyman. The new secretary Mona Prescott will remain, with board members as follows: Mary Smith, Kamas - Afton Grotepas, Kamas - Tom Bates, Francis and Louise Biscl, Woodland. It was good to see our dear Friend Afton Brimhall out for the voting; we havent seen her for quite awhile. Chattin with Petunia Padfleld (some may know him as George) I learned about the annual family Christmas Bash over the weekend. Petunias daughter Margaret directed the party, but it wu held at his today, it Staff at; Wasatch Vision Undergo Laser Surgery To Correct Vision i Id bring back the contours with which youth is gifted 7 So that things now suspended, need not be lifted.
