Show STATE HEALTH REPORT A total of 686 cases of communicable com-municable diseases was reported to the Utah State Department of Health for the week ending March 24. This is 164 cases more than were reported for the previous week but 324 cases fewer than reported for the corresponding period one year ago. A total number of 149 cases of scarlet fever was reported as compared with 109 cases for the previous week. For the corresponding corres-ponding period one year ago, 61 cases were reported. A slight increase in the number num-ber of cases of influenza is noted with 204 cases beine reported as compared with 168 for the previous previ-ous week. An increase in the number of cases if mumps is also noted with a total of 135 as compared with 75 for the previous week. No cases of diphtheria, smallpox, small-pox, nor typhoid fever were reported. re-ported. Three .cases of rheumatic fever were reported as follows: Davis Sanpete and Summit County. The totals for the week were as follows: chickenpox, 72; influenza, influ-enza, 204; measles, 30; German measles, 30; mumps, 135; pneumonia, pneu-monia, 7; scarlet fever, 149: whooping cough, 39; gonorrhea, 7i syphilis, 10; and rheumatic fever, 3. |
