Show State Health Report Reports from local health officers of-ficers to the State Department of Health showea a small Increase to 69 for the week ending March in the total number of cases of communicable diseases for the The week's total of communicable communi-cable disease was 950 cases as compared with 850 for the previous pre-vious week and 452 case for the corresponding week one year ago. One hundred and se vent -eight cases of measles were reported, an increase of 85 over the previous pre-vious week. The number of cases of whooping cough increased from 23 for the week ending March 6, to 69 for the week endig March 13. Washington County reported one case of diphtheria. The patient pat-ient was an adult living at St. George, Utah. One death from typhoid fever was reported from Salt Lake County, The patient was an ault 43 years of age, The probable source of infection has not, as yet been determined. Immunisation against typni3 fever is urged by the State Department De-partment of Health for every citizen cit-izen in the State. This is a defense de-fense measure within the reach of every citizen. Other diseases reported were as follows: chickenpox 125, influenza influen-za 4, measles 178, German measles meas-les 113, mumps 392, pneumonia 11, scarlet fever 27, gonorrhea 7, and syphillis 14. |
