Starting in Mosquito-tow- n Westchester Township, in a school building in 1888, Mias Swanson has taught in five schools, all of them in Porter County, where she waa born. She now teaches the 8th grade G rammer school and Sophomore History classes in the high school. Her preparatory work to become a teacher was taken at Valpara iso Normal School, which now has become Valparaiso Funeral Services For "Al" G. Stain Sunday Funeral services will be conducted for Axel "Al" G. Stain, Sunday, at 3 p. m. in the Sugar House Ward chapel. 1950 Twelfth East street, by Bishop Ernest A. Nelson. Friends may call at the chapel 30 minutes prior to the services. Interment will be i n the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Stain died Thursday morning of a heart ailment. He was born in Sweden, October 20, 1868, and came to the United States while a small child. He was weil known in Sugar House, having resided here for thirty-seve- n years, and a number of years ago worked for the Salt Lake Pressed Brick Company. He made his home at 1977 South 12th East. He was a member of Friendship Lodge No. 27, I. O. O. F. of Salt Lake City, and Smoky Hill Aerie, F. O. E., of Salina, Kansas. He is survived by a brother, John Kjelstrom of Los Angeles. Ottley, is expected home this week-en- d from the Hawiian Islands where he has spent the past few months. Mr. Ottley is returning from a New Zealand mission, where he has served as a missionary for the L. D. S. church. While there he was appointed editor of Te Kv-era monthly magazine publish ed by the church in Auckland. Mrs. S. J. Ottley. met her son in Los Angeles. California, and is accompanying him home. MA.
