Show Theater and Restaurant American Born Pianist Will Be Granite Arts Concert Soloist Guest artist of the Granite Arts Thursday evening will be the young American pianist, Leonard Pennario, who has been hailed as "brilliant" through out the nation. The recital will be held at 8:15 p. m. in the Granite High School Auditorium. Pennario began his study of the piano when he was six years old and made his ' professional debut at the age of 12 with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, performing Grieg's Piano Concerto, which he learned within six days. He was soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the Otto Klemperer, and he has since appeared more than 24 times with this orchestra. The young pianist received acclaim ac-claim for his most recent New York recital during the 1954-55 season. Critics noted that his "playing had a brilliance that filled the hall with excitement and under the spell of such technical prowess one felt that this young American could do just about anything any-thing he wished." The performance promises to be outstanding among the superb entertainment en-tertainment offered this season by the Granite Arts. |
