Show Cancer Deaths Increase "In the last 25 years cancer has increased alarmingly from seventh place to second place as a cause of . death," Dr. Carl A. Wilzbach, health commissioner of Cincinnati, Ohio, said recently. "We have tried to control tuberculosis tuber-culosis and have met with encouraging encour-aging success," Dr. Wilzbach pointed point-ed out. "The progress made in fighting tuberculosis can be duplicated dupli-cated in fighting cancer if the public will get behind the fight." Dr. Wilzbach said that during the last four or five years there has been an annual increase in fatalities from cancer, and that throughout the nation na-tion cancer is the greatest cause of death among women between 45 and 54 years old. |
