Show INTEREST TO RESIDENTS OF UTAH It will be of interest to the residents of Utah to know that in the month of December, Decem-ber, 1940, $80,501.48 was returned by the Grazing Service, (the U. S. treasurer being the medium), to the state treasurer of Utah for distribution in the districts in which the fees were collected. This represents 50 per cent for that year. In the Monticello, Utah, district there was distributed 9,000 pounds of strychnine bait and 6,000 lbs. of pre-bait (treated mash or grain) on 50,000 acres of 'ange in the grazing area to aid in the destruction des-truction of gophers and kangaroo rats. At Escalante, Utah nearly 10,000 acres of grazing graz-ing land was reseeded with crested wheat grass and in the entire state there was 30.000 acres reseeded. Eleven permitees paid $312 is voluntary settlement of damages to public grazing lands by reason of minor trespass offenses. |
