Show OBITUARIES Lyman Sheppard Sister of local woman dies Funeral services for Lucy Chamberlain Esplin, 91, of Cedar City, who died Sunday at her home of causes incident to age, were held Wednesday in the Cedar City second Ward Chapel. Mrs. Esplin was the sister of Leola C. Brinkerhoff, Springville. She was born July 1, 1881, in Orderville, Kane County, to Thomas and Ann Carling Chamberlain. She married Henry C. Esplin on Oct. 11, 1899 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was active in the LDS Church as a temple worker, ward organist, Relief Society visiting teacher, Primary teacher and ward choir member. mem-ber. Mrs. Esplin had been employed by United Order Woolen Factory in Orderville. Susvivors include her husband, five sons and Jour daughters, Rulon Esplin, Fruitland, Ida.; Henry Esplin, Nyssa, Ore.; Merrill Esplin, Reed Esplin, Van Esplin and Mrs. Elton (Thelma) Jones, all of Cedar City; Mrs. Howard (Ann) Thompson, Los Angeles; Mrs. Vernon (Maxine) Larrabee and Mrs. Lloyd V. Bishop Eldon Reese officiated. Burial was in Springville Evergreen Cemetery directed by Wheeler Mortuary. Mr. Sheppard was born July 10, 1906 in Aurora, Sevier County, to George and Annie Rawlinson Sheppard. He married Elva Goulding on Feb. 7, 1938 in Joseph, Sevier County, and the marriage was solemnized solem-nized later in the Manti Temple. . His early life was spent in farming at Aurora and in 1937 he moved to Springville where he farmed and later worked at the Arden Meadow Gold Dairy, for 21 years retiring because of ill health. At the time of his death he was employed as a custodian at the Kolob Stake House. He was an elder in the LDS Church. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his widow; three sons and one daughter, Kay Sheppard, Ogden; Gary Sheppard, Provo; Vern Sheppard, Shep-pard, Payson; Mrs. Doyle (Kathryn) Neilson, Sunset, Davis County; nine grandchildren; grand-children; two brothers and one sister, Wilmer Sheppard, Salina; Rex Sheppard and Mrs. Miles (Eva) Curfew, both of Springville. Brother of local man succumbs Funeral services Monday for Grant William Gledhill, 60, of McGill, who died Thursday at the home of a relative near McGill. Brothers live in Utah County. A native of Gunnison, he was born April 4, 1912 to William James and Emily Wilson Gledhill. He married Denise Spell Dec. 27, 1950; and they later were divorced. i A member of the LDS Church, Payson resident. He was an employee of Kehnecott Copper Corp. in McGill for 25 years. Survivors include , his daughter, Mrs. Alex (Rita) Lucero, Ely, Nev.; Rodney Gledhill, Payson; Ferrell "Pete" Gledhill, Springville; Shirrell C. Gledhill, with U. S. He was born Feb. 6, 1946 at Spanish Fork, the son of Dr. Kenneth and Shirley Miller Creer. He married Sue Carole Chesnut June 9, 1967 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dr. Creer graduated from Springville High School with high honors and was active in athletics and student affairs while there. He was graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University in 1968. In 1971 he was graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Utah. He had interned in-terned for one year at the Mason Hospital in Seattle and at the time of his death was in his first year of residency there. Survivors include his widow, Seattle, one son and one daughter, Christopher Kenneth Creer and Jennifer Creer, both of Seattle; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Creer, Springville; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Creer and Mr. and Mrs. William Miller, all of Spanish Fork. Funeral services were held Monday in the Springville Tenth LDS Ward Chapel, with Bishop Reed Averett conducting. Burial was in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, directed by the Wheeler Mortuary. Her sister, Mrs. Eugene (Nola) Palfrey man, lives in Springville. She was born May 22, 1883 in Little Pinto Creek, Washington County, to Daniel Richey and Sophia Ann Geary Page. She married Edwin R. Higbee Aug. 28, 1905 in Parowan; they were later divorced. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Surviving her are a son and daughters, Lamond P. Higbee, Winnemucca, Nev.; Mrs. Grant - (Eleen) Harris, Carson , City, Nev.; Mrs. Arthur Wilma) Kemp, North Las Vegas, Nev.; ; Mrs. Palfreyman, Springville; Mrs. Dean (Maree) Gardner, St. George, and Mrs. Melville (Gena) Hirschi, California; 28 grandchildren; 57 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-greatgrandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Golda Page, Farmington. He was born June 29, 1885 in Spanish Fork to Christian and Kathrine Olsen Christensen. He married Ethel Jane Sorensen on Jan. 7, 1925 in Spanish Fork, and she died on Jan. 18, 1933. He married Myrl Olsen on Nov. 14, 1956 in St. George. He attended Spanish Fork schools and was employed by Spanish Fork City for a period. He had also worked for the Utah State Road Commission, U. S. Forest Service and Strawberry Water Users Association. Active in the LDS Church, Mr. Christensen taught Sunday School and was chairman of the genealogy committee. He was a high priest at the time of his death. Survivors include his widow; one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Floyd (Lila) Smith, Spanish Fork; Shirl Christensen, Layton, and Clair Christensen, Pleasant Grove; a foster son, Dell Christensen, Spanish Fork; stepchildren, Mrs. Hugh (Reva) Roylance, Springville; Mrs. Lawrence (Rhoda) Stubbs, Buena ventaira, Mexico; Sterling Olsen, Fort Collins, Colo; Lawrence Olsen, Alden Olsen, Norman Olsen and Snell Olsen, all of Spanish Fork; Paul Olsen, Nampa, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Sister of local woman dies Annie Eliza Wankier Foote, 83, of Nephi, died Friday in the Juab County Hospital of causes incident in-cident to age. She was born June 26, 1889 in Levan, a daughter of Peter and Anna Christina Peterson Wankier. She married Ernest Franklin Foote July 8, 1908 in Nephi. She lived in the same house since her marriage. Her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Foote was well known for her flower and vegetable garden and cooking and handiwork. Active in the LDS Church, she served in the Primary and Relief Society. A member of the Camp Birch DUP, she also was a member of the Juab County Fair board for a number of years. Survivors include one son and four daughters, Riley Franklin Foote, Idaho Falls, Ida.; Mrs. George (Lucille) Ingram, Lehi; Mrs. Dillon (LaVelle) Frazier, Springville; Mrs. Ernestine Vest, Nephi, Mrs. Ross (Vanda) Fairchild, Provo; 16 grandchildren; grand-children; ' 32 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers and a sister, Norman Wankier, Murray; Long Beach, Calif.; LaMont Wankier, San Pedro, Calif., and Mrs. Lorena Jack-man, Jack-man, Ruth, Nev. The fees will be 98 cents per cow-month, up 9 cents from 1972, and 20.5 cents per sheep-month, up 1.5 cents. There will be approximately 8,000 cows, belonging to 250 permittees, grazing the Uinta in 1973, as well as 76,000 sheep, belonging to 55 permittees. Grazing seasons are approximately ap-proximately 4 months for cattle and 3 months for sheep, but will vary between allotments. The increase is being made under a plan adopted in 1969 to reach fair market value in 10 annual increments and also reflects an increase in private grazing land-lease rates.
