Show T STUDENTS NOW WEARING 1000 MARK 945 College Students Have Registered at Big "Mormon" "Mor-mon" School. Nine hundred forty-five college students and 151 high school students stu-dents had completed their resignation resigna-tion at the Brigham Young univer- ksity Friday night, according to the : records of the institution. This is the greatest registration f in the history of the Brigham Young university and is sufficiently , large to make it practically certain I that the institution will stand see-j see-j ond in the state this year and will be classed among the largest pri-i pri-i vate schools in western America. "That Provo is rapidly becoming one of the most important college towns west of the Mississippi river is gratifying to those who love the city and are interested in the educational educa-tional progress of its citizens," said President F. S. Harris. "The Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university is now large enough to command the respect of educators everywhere. Educators of world wide fame are pleased to visit the institution, to lecture to the student body and even to serve on its faculty when they are asked to do so. "Never in the history of the institution in-stitution have the citizens of the city shown a more sympathetic spirit towards its activities. The clubs and other organizations havts shown an active interest in its welfare wel-fare and have done everything in their power to spread its fame. "Provo is an ideal university town. Its natural environs are such as to recommend it to every class j of student for residence work. It i this hearty co-operation can con-j con-j tinue between the educational insti-! insti-! tutions and the city populace, there j is no reason in the world why the growth of the Brigham Young i university shouldn't be continuous.'' |
