Miss ITelon (Jroesboek spent the I week-end in Salt Luke City. Mrs. (?. L. McKenzie nnd Dr. J. W. Bracken of Bingham were ' SpringviUe visitors during the ' week. Mr. nnd Mrs. G. Ray Hales of Spanish Fork were the dinner guests Sunday, of Mrs. W. L. Grooms. Mrs. Ellen Smith of Hiawatha nnd Evelyn Bird of Provo were dinner guests of Mr. nnd Mrs. Mux Kless last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lawrence of Ogden spent Saturday and Sunday in Springville, at the home of Mrs. Lawrence's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. McKenzie. Mrs. Fred Smith went to Salt Lake Thursday to spend a few days. She was ueeompanied by her daughter, Hazel. Friends oif Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Snnford surprised them at their home Tuesday evening, the occasion occa-sion being Mr. Sanford's birthday. Refreshments were served to the following: Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Grocsbeck, Mr. nnd Mrs. Charles Snnford, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Starr, Mr. and Mrs.- Frank Snnford; Mr. nnd Mrs. Arvil Enee, Mrs. Gertrude Kaye, nnd the Misses Carrie nnd Helen Sanford. A most enjoyable evening was spent. Mrs. Lee E. Davis entertained nt a birthday party .Saturday afternoon after-noon in honor of her son, Vern. Games were played and lunch served to eighteen. The Tresbyterinn ladies meet nt the home of Mrs. W. L. Grooms, Thursday. Mrs. J. M. Pierce and Mrs. LHvbAVlvitney motored to Salt Lake City, Tuesday. Mr. nnd Mrs. M. E. Crandall, Jr., nnd Mrs. Olive Anderson motored to Ephraim last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Finley, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Finley nnd Mrs. Mcll Roylance of Richfield, Idaho, who is visiting with her daughter. Mrs. Arlhur Finley, motored to Salt Lake City, Monday. Mr. nnd Mrs. 'uyne Johnson announce the engagement of their daughter Jessie to Oliver Dnlton. the marriage to take place lieeem-ber lieeem-ber 3, in the Salt Lake temple. The Mother's Study club met nt the home of Mrs. Eliza Russell last Friday afternoon. Mrs. Rena Roylance Roy-lance assisted the hostess in serving. serv-ing. The rooms were decorated with cut flowers. Miss Florence Curtis returned to Salt Lake City, Friday, to resume her work. Dr. and Mrs. F. Dunn of Provo called at the home of Mrs. Ella Miner, Sunday. Joseph Allen, George Cos of Midway Mid-way returned from Nephi, Monday, where they had gone to hunt elk. They were successful in killing ten elk, which were taken to Salt Lnke. Mrs. W. T. Curtis has returned from a week's visit with her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Hazel Batty of Wnllsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Snow have moved to Salt Lnke City, where they expect to make their home. Mrs. D. P. Brinton entertained nt dinner Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. William H. Bailey and sons, Herbert, Her-bert, Evans and Steele, nnd Miss Kntheriue Southwick, all of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Percival Brinton and family. Harry Curtis has gone to Nevada to spend the winter. C. E. Allen was the honored guest at a party at the home of V. B. Allen, of Mapleton. Children and grandchildren gathered to bid farewell to Mr. Allen, who has gone to California to spend the winter. |
