The Frimury stake officers of the Koloh stake will enjoy a chicken slipper at L'nstella Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Hayniond and family spent a few days in Salt Lake last week. Guy Mendenhall has left for Canada Can-ada to look after his interests there, Mrs. Mendenhall and Odessa accompanied accom-panied him as far as Salt Lake. Miss Mattie Davis entertained at a basket party Tuesday night, sanies and music were enjoyed by the following fol-lowing girls, Marie ltigtrip, Emily Strong, Mario Nelson, Ida Ilarmer, Mary Boyer, Mildred Anderson and Ellen Wheeler! most of the time in liirmhain. Wash., visiting with Mr. Groesbeck's sister. E. G. Gledhill and familv have moved to Mt. Pleasant where Mr. Gledhill will teach this winter. John- S. Boyer, Jr., has returned from a business trip through the northwest. Mr. Boyer reports that the prospects for the Utah farmers is very good. Burt Groesheck will teach in Talk City this winter. Mrs. W. G. Groesheck spent Monday Mon-day and Tuesday in Salt Lake visiting visit-ing with her daughter, Helen. Mr. and Mrs. N. Gledhill and daughter Dorothy spent part of last week in Strawberry. Mr. and Mrs. Prank SnubbiiH are the proud parents of a baby girl turn August IS. Erica Wadley of Pleasant Grove visited with Mr. and Mrs Hilton Robertson last week. Miss Idona Harrison has returned home after visiting with her grandmother grand-mother at Moadows, Utah, for the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs.' Hilton Robertson visited in Salt Lake Tuesday. ..Mrs. Taylor of Los Angeles and Mrs. Hamilton of Salt Lake and Rev. and Mrs. Pratt and baby of Greenfield, New Jersey, are visiting visit-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Grooms. Miss Helen Fox has returned from Soldier Summit where she has been visiting the past few weeks. The Busy Bee Sewing club met at the home of Miss Vera Chader Thursday evening, n dainty luncheon lunch-eon was served to the following members: Wenltha Spafford, Carrie Car-rie Sanford, Florence Mendenhall, Valetta Smith, Margaret Warthen, Gwen Zabriskie and the hostess, Miss Chader. Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Whiting and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Harrison have just returned from a trip' through advantage of the excursion rates offered of-fered by the Suit Lake and Utah railroad. The Utah Stake Returned Missionary Mission-ary society will-hold a street meeting meet-ing in front of the Springville bank, Snturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Beal entertained enter-tained at dinner Saturday for Mr. and Mrs. Bob Everke of Denver and Mrs. David N. Beal. John Beal visited with Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Beal Wednesday. Mr. Beal is on his way to Denver where he will attend school. the scenic parts of southern Utah and Arizona. They visited Cedar Breaks, St. George, Zion Park, Grand canyon,. Bryce canyon aud Fish Lake. Mrs. W. Wannaeott is expecting her sister from Pocatello, Idaho, Mrs. N. M. Eldredge. Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Miner and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jensen of Mapleton spent Sunday in Salem the guests of N. C. Christensen. Miss Melba Roylance entertained at a farewell party for Miss Melba Hedden who is leaving for Salt Lake Friday. Those present were : Margaret Warthen, Carrie Sanford, Wenltha Spafford, Vera Packard, Melva Hedden, Helen Packard, Myrtice Gore, Rheta Roylance and the hostess. Dninty luncheon was served. Cards aud games were the entertainment of the evening. Miss Grace Clegg, daughter of MrT and Mrs. Eastham Clegg, was awarded first place at the prettiest girl contest conducted at the Star theater last week in connection with the Lagoon Resort company. Miss Clegg will enter the state wide contest at Lagoon on Labor day. The winner at Lagoon will get a free trip to California, including Hollywood, where she will be the guest of noted film stnrs. Other prizes offered include $25, $15 and $10. Between 175 and ISO persons froin the Kolob stake attended the stake temple excursion at the Salt Lake temple last Tuesday. Three were from Thistle, three from Soldier Summit- and the rest from the Springville and Mapleton wards. One hundred forty of the number took J Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christenson were entertained Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Beal.
