Show WOMAN BADLY INJURED IN CAR ACCIDENT Mrs. Ivan Hawkins Suffers Injury When Car Turns Over Near Payson A blowout on a car driven by Darwin Dar-win Simmons of Payson in which his sister Mrs. Ivan Hawkins of Benjamin also was riding was the cause of an accident on the state highway bet wen Payson and Santa-quin Santa-quin Sunday which resulted in Mrs. Hawkins suffering severe bruises about the legs and bpdy. Simmons escaped with minor bruises. When the tire blewont the car left the main traveled portion of the highway high-way and turned completely over. Mrs. Hawkins was taken into Payson where she was given medical attention and later she was taken to her home. The skidding of the car following the front wheel blowout caused a second blowout of a back tire, according to County Assessor Charles E. Hawkins, father-in-law of the injured woman. Deputy Sheriff George Davis, who was in Payson at the time of the accident, went to make an investigation investi-gation nnd declares that the blowout blow-out was responsible for the car turning over. Ie reports that the car was badly damaged and that it is a miracle that both occupants were not more seriously injured. |
