Show LARGE NUMBER REGISTER AT HIGH SCHOOL According to the report of Principal Prin-cipal Knudsen the registration at the Springville high school was exceptionally ex-ceptionally heavy considering the early opening of Rehool this year. The registration was completed Monday and Tuesday and class work began Wednesday morning. Mr. Knudsen expressed himself ;ns being very pleased with conditions condi-tions at the school nnd (he prospects for the coming year. lie has just returned from a five year'sstndy in New York and New Jersey. While in the east he was graduated gradu-ated from the Columbia university of New York, receiving the master of arts degree and the teachers college diploma, superintendent of schools. While nt teachers college he was a member of the survey staff which made a survey of the Baltimore city schools. After graduation Mr. Knudsen successfully passed the New York City school examinations and taught in the city continuation schools. The following year he accepted a position ns principal of tho; Middletown township junior-senior junior-senior high school which had an enrollment of over 1000 students, lie was next promoted to the position posi-tion of superintendent of schools of Point Pleasant, N. J. Other new members of the faculty this year are: George Russell, graduate grad-uate of the University of California, who has charge of the shop work: Emma Russell a B. Y. U., graduate who will teach English and physical education for girls; Miss Melba Condie a graduate of the B. Y. TJ. who will teach dramatic art and public speaking; Miss Florence Childs, a graduate of the Utah Agricultural Agri-cultural college, who will have charge of the domestic science work ; Miss Josephine Wood side of Logan, graduate of the TJ. A. C, who will teach domestic art and I. W. Young, graduate of the B. Y. U. who will have charge of the physical educa-. tion and coaching. Miss Thelma Boyer who will act as clerk of the school and teach typewriting. |
